- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING expresses heartfelt congratulations to the People and the Government of the Republic of Cuba on the forthcoming 502 anniversary of the founding of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana on 16 November 2021, a Latin American and Caribbean historic milestone. Its iconic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982, is today one of the best-preserved architectural ensembles in the region.
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING highlights with pleasure that, in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, the celebrations for the 502 anniversary of the founding of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana coincide with the restart of the on-site school year with all students fully vaccinated, the reopening of cultural spaces and tourism accompanied by an increase in the frequency of flights and a varied program of artistic activities.
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING acknowledges Cuba’s leadership in the development and production of homegrown Covid-19 vaccines in Latin America and the Caribbean and congratulates the Pearl of the Antilles on becoming the first country in the world to start vaccinating children as young as 2 years old for Covid-19, on 3 September. This extraordinary feat by Cuban scientists and health personnel, together with a free and universal public healthcare system and renowned science and biopharmaceutical development programs have made it possible.
- The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING values the work of Cuba in the field of Health and Education with the international community, promoting and implementing international solidarity and cooperation as a valuable member of the UN.
