Chambers of Commerce of Cuba and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis explore business opportunities in the agricultural sector

Basseterre, 23 March 2022. On Wednesday morning, a virtual meeting took place between the Chambers of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, represented by its Vice President, Rubén Ramos Arrieta, and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, represented by its Executive Director, Kevin Hope. The purpose of the meeting was to explore business opportunities in the agricultural sector.

During the exchange, Kevin Hope expressed his interest in the training of local personnel by Cuba, to be carried out in the context of the ten-year program of agricultural reform in the Federation.

On the Cuban side, presentations of business opportunities were made by the Institute of Animal Science and the companies Labiofam and CATEC, through which they offered services, products, as well as technical assistance and training programs.

This meeting confirmed the mutual interest in promoting bilateral economic and trade relations.

Among the participants also were Dr. Leighton Naraine, Director of Program and Personnel Development at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, the Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis in Havana, Verna Mills, as well as other members of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of this country. On the Cuban side, Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez, and other representatives of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.
