Caricom insists that the blockade against Cuba end.

Havana, May 10, 2021.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, thanked the solidarity of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) which, in its meeting of foreign ministers, held last Saturday, demanded the end of the US blockade against Cuba.
In a message posted on his Twitter account, the also member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba recalled that “this extraterritorial policy affects third countries and is the main obstacle to our development.”
The Council of Foreign and Community Relations (Cofcor) of the integration mechanism, in its XXIV meeting, held virtually, expressed its continuing concern that the United States blockade against Cuba has a significant adverse impact on the socio-economic development of the archipelago and the well-being of the Cuban people, according to a note posted on the Caricom website.
Likewise, the ministers reiterated their support for ending this “long-standing economic, financial and commercial siege of the United States against Cuba,” and agreed to continue advocating in this regard.
On the other hand, the forum was interested in the work of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) under the presidency of Mexico, and welcomed the efforts of that group to advance in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in the health and economic fronts.
Likewise, they decided to continue a coordinated strategic action within the Association of Caribbean States, in particular with regard to the fight against the health crisis, Prensa Latina expanded
They also called for global solutions to the various challenges facing small island developing and low-lying coastal states, particularly in the midst of the pandemic.
