Namibia, April 9th, 2021- The Vice President of SWAPO, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Hon. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, received the Cuban Ambassador to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta Aday, at the headquarters of that organization.
The Cuban diplomat updated the Namibian senior leader on the epidemiological situation in Cuba and the development of the 5 Cuban vaccine candidates against Covid-19. Ambassador Acosta also explained the effects on the Cuban economy derived from the incidence of the pandemic and the reinforcement of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
For her part, the Namibian leader thanked the information received and reiterated the solidarity and support of her country for Cuba. She highlighted the advances of Cuban science and the solidarity of the Caribbean island with other countries, in the current international context.
Both diplomats highlighted the excellent state of historical bilateral relations between the two countries.
