The Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Roger López García, holds a meeting with professors from the Department of Foreign Languages of the University of Copenhagen.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat explained various issues of current Cuban affairs in the political and economic order, and imposed on those present, the results of the largest of the Antilles, with the advances of Cuban science, after the contribution of its five vaccine candidates, the success of “Abdala”, which is 92.28% effective against Covid-19, an announcement that comes two days after the biopharmaceutical corporation BioCubaFarma, reported that the “Soberana 02” vaccine has shown an efficacy of 62% with only two of its three doses.
On the other hand, the Cuban representative referred to the damages of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba in recent years, after Trump’s arrival in power, which in times of a pandemic increased his measures of deliberate way to accentuate its effects on the population. In the case of health, he transmitted the impossibility of accessing suitable equipment, technologies, and drugs in these moments of health crisis. He also highlighted the persecution unleashed against our income channels, our international operations, and the flow of merchandise, whose practices remain intact despite the change of Administration.
The meeting was conducive to promoting academic links that can be fostered with higher education institutions on the Island. He explained the prospects for carrying out study plans based on the interest of both parties, the participation of Cuban institutions in its academic and scientific networks, and the execution of research projects among others.
During his presentation, López García invited them to attend the 2022 University, and the event for the Balance of the World: “With all and for the good of all” that will take place in Cuba at the beginning of the next years.
