Oppose U.S. Provocations to Incite Counterrevolution in Cuba!

The Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) denounces the hostile actions incited by the U.S. against revolutionary Cuba and applauds the courageous Cuban people and their president and leadership for giving the mercenaries and counterrevolutionaries a fitting reply.
To its eternal shame, the Biden administration is further tightening the 60-year old blockade and specifically the measures imposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump to stifle Cuba, destroy her economy and punish her people for supporting the Revolution. In the name of democracy and human rights, the Biden administration is depriving the Cuban people of food, medicine and electricity in the heat of summer, as well as making their efforts to fight the pandemic and recover from the damage from Tropical Storm Elsa even more difficult. Despite all this, Cuba never permits anyone to fend for themselves. The Cuban people have shown their mettle by raising high the banner of the Revolution and socialism and declaring that they alone are masters of their country and will forge ahead in the direction they see fit to take.
The aim of the counterrevolutionaries is not to solve Cuba’s problems but to impose the U.S. neo-liberal model of nation-wrecking, privatization of social programs, public services and abandoning people to fend for themselves. The hope of the U.S.-led counterrevolution is to create as much social unrest as possible, while pushing for what it calls international humanitarian aid and intervention to open an alleged humanitarian corridor controlled by the U.S. This hope has been dashed to the ground once again. Its age-old dream of taking over Cuba remains as elusive as ever. The aim of these counterrevolutionaries was aptly revealed when a small gang of them held a rally in Miami in front of a restaurant they own called Versailles.
As Fidel repeated on April 16, 2001, on the 40th anniversary of the proclamation of the socialist character of the Cuban Revolution, when he quoted the hero of the Cuban people Antonio Maceo:
“On a day like today, it is worth recalling that immortal quote from Maceo, the Bronze Titan: Those who attempt to take over Cuba will reap nothing but the dust of its blood-drenched soil, if they do not perish in the fight!“
This is the fitting reply the Cuban people have once again given those who would see Cuba fall.
CPC(M-L) calls on Canadians and Quebeckers to stand as one in defence of the Cuban Revolution by joining actions carried out in solidarity with revolutionary Cuba. The Cuban people united around their Communist Party, President and State are providing solutions to the great difficulties they face as a result of the brutal U.S. blockade. Not only is the Biden administration not doing anything to permit Cuba to access the resources to provide its people with the humanitarian aid they need, but it is fomenting counterrevolution throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America. The Government of Canada is appeasing these counterrevolutionary actions and must be called on to cease and desist. Whether it be in Haiti, Venezuela, Peru or Cuba, as well as Colombia, Nicaragua, Honduras or any other country, the revelations of the forces involved in these counterrevolutionary activities are rapidly being brought to light.
The immediate lifting of the blockade and the sanctions regimes is the main way to allow the Cuban people to be fully able to deal with their situation. Those who exercise blockades against peoples then claim to have the solution to the resulting problems by organizing social unrest have no other aim than to impose their destructive neo-liberal agenda. This agenda has already proven to be disastrous to so many countries in the world, including by hampering their ability to deal with the pandemic. It tells the peoples of the dangerous situation the U.S. imperialists and their allies are creating for the peoples and of the need to strengthen the solidarity movement in support of revolutionary Cuba and the peoples of the world.
As they have always done, the Cuban people are perfectly able to deal with their problems on the basis of their leadership and the defence of their society fit for human beings. This is also a mighty example of assistance to the peoples of the world.
