Havana, 14 February 2022. A total of 9,858,081 Cubans, 88.1 percent of the population, have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Monday. According to the Ministry’s website, 10,591,632 citizens have received at least one dose of the home-grown vaccines, 9,361,846 have already administered a second dose, 9,037,475 a third dose and the country is implementing the anti-Covid-19 booster dose.
Cuba has administered 34,735,729 doses of the Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala (CIGB-66) vaccines.
The Cuban vaccines are safe and without serious side effects. The strategy will be staggered and it is aimed at achieving greater protection against new Covid-19 variants and easing measures.
According to Cuba’s National Statistics and Information Office, the island’s population was about 11,180,000 inhabitants by late 2020.
