Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Ng to lead the Women’s Trade Mission towards the United Kingdom

February 6, 2023 — Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada Increasing the participation associated with women-owned small and moderate enterprises in international business is a priority for the Government of Canada. Such increased participation will promote Canada’s economic growth and promote greater gender equality. The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Advertising, Small Business and Economic Development, will lead her initial Women’s Trade Mission to the United Kingdom (U. K. ) from March 13 in order to 16, 2023. The mission will focus on expanding trade between businesses owned plus led by women in technology-based sectors such as clean technologies, information and marketing communications technologies, and life sciences.
The U. K. is Canada’s largest export country market in Europe, and the 2 countries have a strong commercial relationship founded on shared history and values. Within March 2022, Canada as well as the U. K. announced the beginning of negotiations toward an comprehensive and sustainable Canada-United Kingdom free trade agreement that will ensures everyone benefits from industry, including women, Indigenous individuals, Black and racialized business owners, 2SLGBTQIA+ people and youngsters.
