Today, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development, met with her APEP counterparts to discuss ways to deepen regional economic integration and develop sustainable, inclusive approaches to trade and investment. March 18, 2024 – Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada The Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) is an initiative of 12 like-minded partners in the Western Hemisphere that aims to strengthen political and economic ties in the region. During the virtual meeting, Minister Ng emphasized the importance of making trade work for everyone. She underscored how collaboration in the Americas can help facilitate trade through strategic commercial relationships that strengthen the region’s competitive advantage and deliver tangible benefits, such as jobs and more-secure supply chains, for businesses, people and communities.
