Minister Joly strengthens bilateral connection with India’s Minister of External Affairs

During the conference, the Ministers discussed strengthening the economic partnership among Canada and India, improving security cooperation, facilitating immigration and mobility between the 2 countries, and growing our strong people-to-people ties.   Canada’s Minister of Foreign Matters, Mélanie Joly, and India’s Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, met these days in New Delhi for the Canada-India Strategic Dialogue. Marking a decade since the first Tactical Dialogue was held, the conference attests to the enduring, close up ties between Canada plus India as well as our continuing collaboration on shared foreign policy priorities. Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Jaishankar and Minister Joly also exchanged views upon priorities for the G20, which usually India is hosting this season. Canada and India will work closely together to achieve dedicated outcomes in the G20 including on priority areas such as economic growth, women-led growth, and green transitions.
