Biographical notes

Leslie Scanlon (BJ Hons, Carleton University, 1986) joined External Affairs and International Trade Canada in 1990. At Headquarters, she has served in several director general roles in the International Platform plus Emergency Management branches. Ms.   Scanlon has also proved helpful twice in regional workplaces in Canada as a business officer: in Halifax in the International Trade Centre (1990 to 1991) and in Brand new Westminster for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (1996 to 1998). Abroad, her earlier assignments include trade commissioner at the embassy in Tokyo (1992 to 1996) plus minister-counsellor, communications and general public affairs, at the embassy within Paris (2007 to 2011). Ms.   Scanlon served most recently as ambassador to Poland and Belarus (2018 to 2022). A co-founder from the Excellence Québec initiative, the lady actively works to support the particular challenges of inclusion, diversity, equality and accessibility simply by integrating promising young leaders into the management, finance and governance communities. A seasoned plank director, Ms. Féquière’s experience in corporate governance ranges over 25 years of energetic involvement on the boards plus committees of numerous organizations within the cultural, health, education and business sectors. She has been a board member of Défiscalisation dans la pierre Québec (and its review and risk management committees) since 2014, a member of the panel of the University of Montréal (and its audit committee) since 2015 and a specialist panel member of the Canadian Centre for the Purpose of the Corporation. Being a speaker highly sought after on the global scale, she is the recurring keynote guest on major global conferences in her field, including for your Association of International Credit score and Trade Finance Professionals; the Finance, Credit & International Business Association; as well as the Credit Institute of North america. She writes articles that are published in specialized credit publications globally. Ms. Féquière holds a directors training program diploma in governance from the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto, an ICD. D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, a mini-MBA from the McGill Executive Institute and a certificate in financing from HEC Montréal along side the Credit Institute associated with Canada. Ms. Féquière is part of the Order of North america. David Hartman (BA Hons [History], Queen’s University, 1993; MA [History], College of Ottawa, 1996), after working as a special associate to a member of Parliament, joined up with the Department of International Affairs and International Industry in 1998. He has offered as executive director of the Greater China Division, performing director general of the Invest in Canada Bureau and movie director of the Trade Commissioner Service’s business sectors division responsible for the aerospace and protection, automotive, and information and communication technologies industries. Brian served most recently as director general of the South Asia Bureau, in which he had been responsible for the oversight associated with Canada’s relations with seven countries. Madeleine Féquière (BA [Translation], Concordia University, 1985) works as the corporate credit chief with Domtar Corporation since 2008, providing oversight and support for credit risk management on a global scale. She is an established expert, in leadership, corporate credit administration, credit danger and operations, credit improvements and international trade. The lady acquired this expertise among the world’s leading companies more than 35 years. She has implemented innovative, proven strategies plus deployed efficient credit constructions across the Americas and in Europe, Asia and the Middle Eastern. During her career, Microsoft. Féquière held global executive positions for companies in diverse sectors of the economic climate, including agri-food, technology, software program, telecommunications, pulp and paper and personal care.
