The President of the Republic of Burundi pays an official visit to Kenya

At the invitation of H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya, the President of the Republic of Burundi H.E Evariste NDAYISMIYE in the company of the First Lady H.E Angeline NDAYISHIMIYE paid an official visit to Kenya since May 31, 2021, with a delegation of other Burundian Senior Officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, H.E Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO.

This high-level delegation from Burundi was welcomed by the President of Kenya, who, together with his Burundian counterpart, officially inaugurated the company Kenya Shipyards Limited (KSL), in the province of Kisumu.

Kenya Shipyards Limited is a new Government shipbuilding and repair facility, with construction sites at Mombasa and Kisumu.

The President of Kenya H.E Uhuru KENYATTA also offered, during this visit, a donation of about fifty cows to His Burundian counterpart H.E Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE.

As part of consolidating the long-standing bilateral relations between Burundi and Kenya, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation H.E Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO, for his part, signed in the presence of the President of Kenya and the President of Burundi, several bilateral agreements in the fields of agriculture, public service, foreign affairs, trade, sports and culture, with his counterpart H.E Raychelle Omamo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya.
