The outgoing Permanent Secretary and the outgoing Minister’s Assistant of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation carry out a handover and a takeover with the new Permanent Secretary and the new Minister’s Assistant.

This Monday august 2nd, 2021, the outgoing Permanent Secretary Ambassador Isidore NTIRAMPEBA and the incoming Permanent Secretary Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO proceeded to the handover and the takeover ceremonies of the files of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation.

On the same occasion, the outgoing Minister’s Assistant Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO and the incoming Minister ‘s Assistant Mr. Syldie MANIREREKANA also proceeded to the handover and the takeover in front of the Executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation.

The outgoing Permanent Secretary first congratulated the incoming Permanent Secretary as well as the incoming Minister’s Assistant for the confidence placed in them by the High Authorities of the country. He subsequently noted that the new bodies are coming into operation when many files were at an appreciable stage of completion.

The outgoing Permanent Secretary Ambassador Isidore NTIRAMPEBA also made a briefing on major files already carried out and others which are in progress. He cited as an example the adoption of the foreign policy document, the approval by the Council of Ministers of the bill on the organization of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Burundi, the adoption of the protocol manual as well as the development of the Ministry’s sector strategy, the Ministry’s internal and external communication strategy, the statistical yearbook, the sectoral strategy for the development of the Ministry’s statics, etc. He recalled that alongside the above-mentioned documents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation has carried out other actions within the framework of strengthening and warming cooperation with the international community.

In turn, the incoming Permanent Secretary Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO thanked His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation for the honor and confidence they have placed in him. He then called on all the personnel of the Ministry to always work with courage and to show selflessness at work for a better performance in the service of the Nation.

Taking the floor, the incoming Minister’s Assistant Mr. Syldie MANIREREKANA said that he will work together to continue the commendable work already done in order to achieve good results.

The handover and the takeover ceremonies were closed with the handover and takeover of files from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation between the incoming and outgoing bodies.
