The Ambassador of Burundi to Kampala presents figurative copies of his letters of credence

The Relations of friendship and cooperation between Burundi and Uganda have existed since their independence but those have been excellent since 1986.
The Republic of Burundi and the Republic of Uganda have enjoyed the good relations so far and wish to strengthen them further. It would be desirable for the Ugandan economic operators to come and explore the possible opportunities to invest in Burundi and ensure the implementation of the conclusions of the 2nd  Session of the Permanent Joint Commission on cooperation between Burundi and Uganda.
On February 14, 2024, the Ambassador of Burundi to Kampala, Brigadier General Jules NDIHOKUBWAYO presented the figurative copies of his letter of credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, to the Minister of State in charge of Regional Cooperation, Honorable John Mulimba, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda.

By strengthening that friendship, the two parties signed a general cooperation agreement in 2006 through which a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed, including an air transport agreement; the trade agreement; the cultural, Scientific and the technical cooperation agreement; the Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Energy and Mining; the Memorandum of understanding for defense cooperation; the Memorandum of understanding for cooperation in agriculture, livestock and fishing.
