During a lively press conference on thursday, february 24, 2022, the Ambassador of Burundi in Lusaka Mr. Pascal Ruhomvyumworo pointed out that the lifting of sanctions taken by partners promotes investment and the development of trade in Burundi.

The Ambassador explained that the country is peaceful, safe and stable and that significant progress has been made in strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights and fighting corruption.

He explained that Burundian law guarantees the protection of investments and that a lot of incentive measures to make life easy for investors have been taken.

The Ambassador then called on companies and businessmen to think about making their investments in Burundi and assured them that the benefit is certain.

A question to know what the Ambassador thinks about the safety of members of the Burundian community in Zambia.

The Ambassador indicated that the Zambian Government has protected the Burundian communities in the same way as other communities and continues to do so.

He said that the Government is aware that these killings have taken place and that he is confident that the Zambian state will continue to protect those on its territory.

The Ambassador stressed that the Zambian Government is doing its best to ensure the protection of Burundian nationals but everyone knows that irregularities will not be lacking in society.
