His Excellency Ambassador Thérence NTAHIRAJA meets the new members of the Bureau of ASBL DBB

On this subject H.E Mr Ambassador Thérence NTAHIRAJA reassured that Burundi is at peace except the isolated cases linked to special relations between individuals and advised to notify and inform as soon as possible a case of threat that arises. He closed the meeting by inviting them to participate in Burundi’s Independence Day which will be celebrated in Belgium on july 22, 2023.
He also encouraged the Burundian diaspora to highlight their contribution to the development of the country because the Burundian diaspora has skills and knowledge that can be useful for the social and economic development of the country. A large proportion of Burundians abroad have acquired experience in areas from which Burundi can benefit.

Mr KAMEYA Emery then presented the members of the DBB office, he warmly thanked His Excellency Ambassador Thérence NTAHIRAJA for accepting to welcome them. In his message, he reminded the objectives of the DBB, its achievements and the projects carried out towards the members of their association and those carried out in Burundi.
 He continued by inviting the members of the DBB and the diaspora in general to participate in the diaspora week which is organized every year at Bujumbura, a good opportunity to learn about the general situation of the country and to present their contributions on building the country.
H.E Ambassador Thérence NTAHIRAJA recalled that the Embassy is open to all Burundians in the diaspora and serves their interests without any discrimination. He placed a particular emphasis on the collaboration between Burundians and the Embassy by aiming to defend common values ​​in unity and diversity.
Note that the ADBB is one of several groups of associations of the Burundian diaspora in Belgium.
On wednesday, march 22, 2023 at the Chancellery of the Embassy of Burundi in Brussels, His Excellency Ambassador Thérence NTAHIRAJA received in audience a delegation of the new representatives of the association “Diaspora Burundaise de Belgique (DBB)”.
The delegation was led by Mr KAMEYA Emery, the President of the DBB, accompanied by his members of the Bureau including Charles BAYUBAHE, KIROMBO Gaspard, Philibert COYITANGIYE and Dr Ir GAHUNGU Mathias.
 Mr KAMEYA and his companions were delighted with the exchanges and the prospects for a future collaboration between the Embassy and their association but did not forget to express their concern for the physical safety of Burundians who travel to Burundi.
After the usual greetings and thanks, H.E Ambassador Thérence NTAHIRAJA offered the delegation his best congratulations for being elected and thanked them for their initiative to pay a courtesy visit to the Embassy.
