The 10th Joint Meeting of the Sectoral Councils on Cooperation in Defence, Interstate Security and Foreign Policy Coordination held a conference in Arusha to discuss regional security matters. After lengthy deliberations, the meeting, among other issues, considered the report of the joint session of permanent secretaries/ Consultative Committee, adopted and signed it. Speaking during the closing session, Dr.Mathuki underscored the importance of peace and security in the region and also the need for a coordinated approach in handling Covid-19.
Note that Burundi was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, His Excellency Ambassador Albert Shingiro, along with his counterpart in chrarge of defence Mr Alain Tribert Mutabazi.
