Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Gencovska receives Secretary General of the Central European Initiative Roberto Antonione

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska met today with the Secretary General of the Central European Initiative (CEI) Roberto Antonione in connection with the Bulgarian presidency of the organization in 2022. During the meeting the priorities of the Presidency were discussed, covering areas such as “Pandemic Recovery”; “Enhanced connectivity”; “Youth” and “Local Dimension”, as well as the activities for their implementation.

Minister Genchovska and CEI Secretary General Antonione agreed on the idea that the focus of the Presidency’s activities should be on young people. In this context, Minister Genchovska noted that young people are the main beneficiaries of regional cooperation and the future of our societies depends on them.

Later, CEI Secretary General Roberto Antonione took part in a coordination meeting of the representatives of the departments responsible for the implementation of the Presidency’s priorities. It was chaired by Deputy Minister Irena Dimitrova. The participants noted that the preparation of the Presidency is on schedule and outlined measures to increase its visibility.
