Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria donated a mobile mammogram for the needs of the healthcare of the Republic of Northern Macedonia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska visited the Oncology Clinic at the General Hospital in Negotino, Republic of Northern Macedonia. In the context of February 4 – World Cancer Day, Minister Genchovska donated a mobile mammogram for the needs of healthcare in the country.

The donation is under the project “Strengthening the capacity of mammography screening”, funded by the Bulgarian Development Aid. Its main goal is to reduce the death rate from breast cancer in women in the Republic of Northern Macedonia by increasing the rate of early detection. The funds for the purchase of the mammograph in the approximate amount of BGN 272,670 (approximately EUR 139,000) have been allocated by the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria under an operational development program.

The donation ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Skopje Angel Angelov, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of “There is such a people” (TISP) Toshko Yordanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova, Director of the State Cultural Institute Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova, Consul General of Bulgaria in Bitola Dimitar Ivanov and the BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.
