Deputy Foreign Minister Irena Dimitrova received copies of letters of credence from the newly appointed Mexican Ambassador to Bulgaria, Rosario Molinero. The two sides reaffirmed their desire to intensify bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest.
Deputy Minister Dimitrova stressed that Mexico occupies a leading position in the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Bulgaria in Latin America and the Caribbean. She noted the traditional friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, including in support of applications within international organizations. She expressed hope that the Mexican side would reopen its diplomatic mission in Sofia, which would significantly help intensify bilateral relations.
Deputy Minister Dimitrova and Ambassador Molinero discussed various possibilities for intensifying cooperation in the field of culture and education, strengthening contacts between the Diplomatic Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Mexican Diplomatic Academy Matthias Romero, on the eve of the upcoming in 2023 85th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Mexico. They also noted the need to identify new opportunities to promote trade and economic relations.
