The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Irena Dimitrova received Croatian Ambassador to Bulgaria Jasna Ognjanovac. Among the highlights of the conversation were the united response of the European Union and NATO to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the excellent bilateral relations, as well as the current events in the Western Balkans region.
The two sides noted the positive developments in the bilateral dialogue and expressed their desire to deepen it in all areas of mutual interest.
Deputy Minister Dimitrova and Ambassador Ognjanovac agreed that Bulgaria and Croatia, as sharing common values and close partners in the EU and NATO allies, will strengthen co-operation.
Given the current situation in the Western Balkans, Deputy Minister Dimitrova stressed the need for joint efforts to strengthen sustainability and stability in the region. He confirmed the consistent Bulgarian support for European integration, as the leader in the process of EU enlargement remains the principle of own merit.
