An exhibition of children’s art from Bitola visits the MFA

On June 1, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took place the opening of a children’s exhibition with international participation under the motto: “From Children to Children around the World.” The State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bitola and the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Centre in Skopje are hosting the exhibition, which was selected by the team of St. Cyril and Methodius Art Studio – “Little Bitola Montmartre” – Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia.
The exhibition presents works from 14 countries, selected from the past 40 world children’s art plein-airs in Bitola, Ohrid, Krushevo and the village of Vevchani. The works of the young authors are the result of the successfully realized for over 40 years international children’s plein-airs “Small Bitola Montmartre” in Bitola in the period from 23 to 30 May. Many talented Bulgarian children took part in them, whose works can be seen in the exhibition until the end of July. Young authors from Romania, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, India, Albania, Egypt and Poland are presented.
The Consul General in Bitola Dimitar Ivanov shared his joy that the opening took place exactly on June 1 – Children’s Day, and told about the history of the children’s studio and its importance for Bitola. Slavcho Nedelkovski from “Little Bitola Montmartre” expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to present part of the collection of the art studio, which has over 40 years of history, in the MFA. The guests were greeted by the Director of the State Cultural Institute Snezhana Yoveva and by Antonia Veleva, Director of the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Centre in Skopje.
The opening was also attended by Slavica Panić, First Counselor for Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Luftim Spahiu, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia, Iwona Jakuszko-Dudka, Deputy Ambassador at the Polish Embassy to Sofia, diplomats from the Embassy of the Slovak Republic and others.
