Ambassador Milena Ivanova presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Costa Rica

On January 28, 2022, the Exclusive and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Costa Rica Milena Ivanova presented her credentials to the President of the country Carlos Alvarado Quesada at a virtual ceremony.

In her message to President Alvarado, Ambassador Ivanova reaffirmed the desire and aspiration of the Bulgarian government to develop a fruitful dialogue and maintain active bilateral relations with Costa Rica on issues of mutual interest. It highlights Costa Rica’s role in the Central American region for maintaining peace and democracy and respect for human rights.

The President of Costa Rica congratulated Ambassador Ivanova and wished success in her work. He noted his country’s interest in developing cooperation with Bulgaria in the field of environment and climate and expressed hope for the soon entry into force of the Association Agreement between the EU and Central American countries, which Costa Rica sees as an opportunity to intensify relations with EU Member States, including Bulgaria.
