Ambassador Margarita Ganeva met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Pavel Jablonski

On January 4, 2022, Ambassador Margarita Ganeva met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Pavel Jablonski, in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The subject of the meeting was: discussion and identification of current topics of common interest in bilateral relations, the international situation in the context of the challenges of the Eastern border of Poland, incl. given her activity as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office this year, the provision of information and positions of Bulgaria regarding the dialogue with the Republic of North Macedonia, etc. related to economic diplomacy, taking into account the portfolio of Deputy. Minister Jablonski in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Jablonski emphasized the excellent bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Poland, as well as the excellent partnership of the two countries within the EU and NATO, as well as the B9 format. He particularly emphasized Poland’s interest in cooperating in the framework of the Three Seas Initiative.

Mr. Jablonski shared the high assessment of Bulgaria’s success in the long-term actions for accession to the OECD and stressed the personal contribution of Ambassador Ganeva on the subject before her arrival in Warsaw. In 2021 Poland marks 25 years since joining the Organization. Support for Bulgaria has been repeatedly formulated by the Polish government, both by the Polish Foreign Ministry and at the highest level by the institution of the President and the Prime Minister during the organization’s last visit to Poland. Poland pays special attention to the need for more concrete actions of the organization related to the current economic situation, namely rising inflation, climate and migration.

Mr. Jablonski agreed with Ambassador Ganeva’s assessment of the need for a next step in bilateral relations and the formats in which the two countries participate. He declared his readiness to take the necessary steps to agree on dates for intergovernmental consultations between Poland and Bulgaria in the key sectors for both countries.
