Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlights Bahraini women’s achievements
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Member of the Supreme Council for Women, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has set an example for the advancement of women at all levels thanks to the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the constant support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Her Royal Highness Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
In a statement issued on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 of each year, Dr. Shaikha Rana expressed sincere appreciation for the great role of the Supreme Council for Women since its establishment in 2001 under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa in supporting women in all fields.
Dr. Shaikha Rana noted that the celebration of “Women in the diplomatic field” as a theme for Bahraini Women Day last year, came to highlight the important role of Bahraini women in the diplomatic field and aimed to highlight their success stories and achievements.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Equal Opportunities Committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues its role and tireless efforts to promote equal opportunities among all employees, taking into account the needs of women in all fields.
Dr. Shaikha Rana expressed her pride in the growing percentage of Bahraini female diplomats in the embassies of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad in recent years, which confirms that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is proceeding at a steady pace and implementing distinguished plans and initiatives to achieve the desired goals of promoting equal opportunities for the sexes at all levels.
