Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs meets with representatives of “Uniting for Consensus” Group

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met today with the Ambassador of the Italian Republic, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, and the Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as representatives of the “Uniting for Consensus” Group.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in the close and distinguished ties of friendship and cooperation with countries of the “Union for Consensus” group, noting the role that this group plays in promoting joint collective action frameworks within the UN and its various agencies.

He also underlined that the Kingdom of Bahrain was among the first countries to announce its support for the plan of the UN Secretary-General to reform the international organization to achieve the purpose and principles contained in the UN Charter, foremost of which is the respect for sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs in order to preserve international peace and security.

For their part, representatives of the group expressed their countries’ aspiration for continued cooperation and joint coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain in a way that serves mutual interests, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
