Minister of Foreign Affairs receives United Nations Secretary-General Special Envoy for Road Safety

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, received in his office at the Ministry today, the United Nations General Secretary’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt, in the presence of the Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Director of European and European Union Affairs, Ambassador Shaikha Aysha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa and the Director of Organizations, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al-Dhaen.

The Minister praised the existing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations in various development fields, expressing the Kingdom’s appreciation for the cooperation shown by the UN agencies and offices to support the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

For his part, the Special Envoy praised the development and progress the Kingdom of Bahrain is making in the fields of sustainable development and infrastructure, noting the great efforts of the government in the field of implementing traffic projects. He also commended the achievements of the Kingdom in organizing (Formula 1), wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
