Kingdom of Bahrain participates in NATO meeting on women in peace and security


The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Chief of Strategic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Nancy Abdulla Jamal, virtually participated today in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization meeting on women in peace and security, chaired by the head of the Middle East and North Africa Section at NATO’s Political Affairs and Security Policy Division,
Giovanni Romani, as well as the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security, Clare Hutchinson.

H.E. Ambassador Nancy Jamal gave a presentation that highlighted the prominent national achievements of Bahraini women in the fields of defense, security, counterterrorism and counter-extremism, and diplomacy for peace and stability. H.E. noted that the pioneering experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this field mirrors His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision as well as the continuous support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.

Her Excellency also stressed the importance of the role played by Bahraini women in various fields, namely in maintaining security and achieving peace, which is evident in the effective presence and contribution of Bahraini women in various important leadership positions, whether in national institutions or relevant regional and international organizations and committees, underlining that this comes as a natural result of the support, and care women in the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoy from the government and the competent authorities.
