Kingdom of Bahrain Ambassador to U.S signs MoU with Miami City Manager

As delegated by the Minister of Interior, H.E General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, H.E Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and Miami City Manager, Arthur Noriega, signed a memorandum of understanding focusing on cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of community policing and combating cross-border crimes between the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Miami Police. The MoU was signed within the framework of the distinguished relations that unite Bahrain and the United States and their common interest to promote cooperation in the fields of defense and security.

The memorandum of understanding includes, in addition to the field of cooperation in promoting the community police, cooperation on combating terrorism and cross-border crimes, as well as exchanging best experiences and practices, providing training, developing capabilities and exchanging information.

On this occasion, H.E the Ambassador praised the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States, within the framework of the joint commitment to maintaining international peace and security, noting the importance of working to continue promoting security cooperation and coordination and exchanging experiences to keep pace with developments, contribute to capacity development and increase the effectiveness of security services in meeting the challenges.

His Excellency stressed that the signing of the MoU reflects the keenness of the two friendly countries to move forward in strengthening cooperation and joint coordination in the security fields and to contribute to combating all forms of crimes.

The signing of the MoU was attended by Chief Art Acevedo of Miami Police, and the Security Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, Captain Hamad Khalil Al-Meer.
