Foreign Minister receives Japan Ambassador to Kingdom of Bahrain


The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, today received in his office at the Ministry, the Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hideki Ito, and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Abdulla bin Rashid bin Ali Al-Mudailawi, as the Japanese Ambassador’s term in Bahrain comes to an end. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al-Doseri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, and the Director of Afro-Asian Affairs Directorate at the Ministry, Ambassador Muna Abbas Radhi.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister welcomed the Japanese Ambassador, praising the efforts exerted during his tenure in the Kingdom of Bahrain to consolidate relations between the two friendly countries. He also expressed Bahrain’s keenness, under the directives of His Majesty the King, to promote the friendship between Bahrain and Japan, and to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields and promote it to more comprehensive levels in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries and people.


For his part, Ambassador Ito expressed his thanks and appreciation for the support he received from the wise leadership, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all ministries and official bodies in the Kingdom of Bahrain throughout his tenure, which contributed to facilitating the performance of his diplomatic duties, wishing Bahrain further development.

On this occasion, Dr. Al-Zayani presented the Japanese Ambassador with a souvenir, wishing him continued success in his future diplomatic duties.
