Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, had a phone call with the United States Acting Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Philip Reeker.
Minister Xhacka praised the U.S. for its continued support for Albania’s EU path, while emphasizing that our country has met all the conditions for the approval of the negotiating framework and the holding of the First Intergovernmental Conference.
She briefed the Deputy Secretary Reeker on the measures taken to ensure free and fair elections on 25 April 2021.
The focus of the conversation was also the bilateral political and economic relations and regional cooperation. Chief Diplomat Xhacka said that Albania remains committed to further strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership with the United States.
We recall that 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States of America.
