Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Xhaçka, joined the High-level Replenishment Conference for the Peacebuilding Fund of the United Nations. The virtual conference, joined by chief diplomats representing sixty countries worldwide, including United States, Germany, the Great Britain and Canada, focused on the support of the nations for the fund as well as their initiatives that foster peacebuilding.
Albanian chief diplomat, Olta Xhaçka, endorsed the report of the Secretary General of the United Nations, while maintaining that Albania counts on the United Nations’ strategic guidance and support for the achievement of the country’s Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
“Multilateral approach, based on principles on conflict prevention and peacebuilding, is on top of Albania’s main priorities as a candidate for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2022-2023”, stated Xhaçka.
She assured the UN High Representatives that Albania strongly upholds every effort for conflict prevention and peace building, adding that Albania considers this fund as a crucial instrument for peace and safety.
