The post BILATERAL RELATIONS BETWEEN ALBANIA AND BELARUS appeared first on Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The development of bilateral relations between our countries should follow the trajectory of EU policy towards Belarus.
BILATERAL RELATIONS
There has been no active bilateral cooperation between our two countries in the political field. The level of bilateral relations is quite low (it can be said that relations are inexisten).
Belarus, officially the Republic of Belarus, is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Russia to the east and northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest. Covering an area of 207,600 square kilometres (80,200 sq mi) and with a population of 9.3 million, Belarus is the 13th-largest and the 20th-most populous country in Europe. The country is administratively divided into seven regions. Minsk is the capital and largest city.
OVERVIEW
Over the years, a situation of mutual lack of interest has been created for the development of bilateral relations and political dialogue. This is because our country has joined EU sanctions against Belarus. For our country, the EU policy towards Belarus has been decisive over the years. According to the Belarusian side, the slowness in the further progress of bilateral relations is explained by the unfavorable situation in the Balkan region).
