Today, Pakistan Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Kabul Asad Abbas, called on Deputy Foreign Ministry Sher Mohammad Abbas Stankzai.

Expressing condolences for the flood victims in Pakistan, Mr. Stankzai thanked Pakistan for hosting millions of Afghans over the last four decades. Mr. Stankzai highlighted that Afghanistan did not want relations between the two countries to deteriorate nor should misunderstandings undermine relations between the two countries. The Pakistani Chargé said that Pakistan & Afghanistan have many shared vavalues& unbreakable relations, & that existing problems between the two countries are solely caused by misunderstanding. He also said that compared to others, Pakistan has provided many facilities for Afghanistan in the commercial & other sectors, & to this end, the Torkham crossing is open 24 hours for trade & commerce. Mr. Stankzai said that sometimes Pakistani officials make contentious statements about us, therefore, both sides should pay serious attention to it. The Pakistani Chargé pledged to resolve the existing problems & called the improvement of relations between the two countries a responsibility of their Embassy.
