Steering Committee for 9th Report on Implementation of Afghanistan – UN Joint Action Plan for Children Affected by Armed Conflicts Holds Meeting

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab chaired the steering committee meeting on the implementation of Afghanistan and the United Nations joint action plan for children affected by armed conflicts this morning at the Storai Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by deputy ministers and representatives from stakeholder departments of the committee.

Deputy Minister Nab called the finalization of the 9th report important and valuable for fulfilling the Afghan government’s commitments towards the United Nations. Noticing the practical initiatives and steps, he emphasized fulfilling the Afghan government’s commitment to preventing underage enrollment in the national defense forces.

After assessing the views and recommendations of the participants, the steering committee urged the relevant entities to expedite sharing their recommendations with MoFA to finalize the report and submit it to the United Nations and relevant organizations.
