KABUL – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Haneef Atmar heading a high-ranking government delegation, left Kabul for New Delhi this morning, the 22nd of March, 2021.
The purpose of Mr. Atmar and his accompanying delegation’s visit to India is to discuss bilateral relations, strengthen regional and international consensus on the Afghan peace process, and enhance cooperation in security, economic, political and cultural areas.
During his three-day visit to New Delhi, Mr. Atmar is scheduled to meet with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar Minister of External Affairs of India, and a number of high-ranking Indian government officials, including the country’s National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, to discuss and exchange views on a range of issues of common interest between the two countries.
During his visit to Delhi, the Foreign Minister will also meet former ambassadors of India to Afghanistan, students, businessmen, Afghan-Hindu representatives and a number of Afghan refugees living in India.
