KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mirwais Nab met with Turkish Ambassador to Kabul Mr. Oğuzhan Ertuğrul this afternoon to discuss the convening of Ninth Ministerial Conference of Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process scheduled to take place in Tajikistan, and the Afghan peace meeting in Turkey.
Mr. Ertugrul briefed Deputy Minister Nab on technical and content preparations for the Afghan peace meeting in Turkey.
Appreciating efforts of the Republic of Turkey in supporting Afghan peace process and hosting a peace conference in this regard, Mr. Nab stressed the need for a lasting and just peace based on the will and aspirations of the Afghan people.
Both sides expressed hope for success of the Afghan peace talks to be hosted by Turkey and discussed in details the arrangements and preparations for the 9th Ministerial Conference of Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process. They also emphasized comprehensive use of the conference for confidence building, cooperation, and coordination for fight against common challenges, establishment of a lasting peace and prosperity in Afghanistan and the region.
