Barbados Attends Housing & City Development Meeting

At the end of the conference, Barbados has been elected as one of the three Vice Presidents for MINURVI, a grouping of 33 claims in Latin America and the Caribbean. The delegation from Barbados, directed by Minister of Casing, Lands and Maintenance, Dwight Sutherland, attended the XXXI General Assembly of Ministers and High Level Authorities meant for Housing and Urban Advancement in Latin America and the Caribbean (MINURVI) in Santiago, Chile, from December 6 to 7. In his closing remarks on the final day, Minister Sutherland reiterated the need for carried on collaboration among member countries and the need to speak being a unified voice through the MINURVI grouping in order to access weather financing when approaching international financing institutions, noting it would augur well for that region.
