NASSAU, The Bahamas — Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Works and Utilities the Hon. Alfred Sears brought the keynote remarks, on March 14, 2022, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Commonwealth Day Hybrid Ceremony, held at the Ministry, on Cable Beach. Among those taking part in the ceremony were Acting Director Eugene Newry (speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary); Head of the Division of Youth at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and former Commonwealth Youth Ambassador Sandena Neely; Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister; Youth Representative Rashad Ritchie; and Ministry of Foreign Affairs representatives and stakeholders. There were prerecorded remarks by British High Commissioner Her Excellency Sarah Dickson and a video message from the Bahamas Embassy in Washington, as well. The ceremony — held under the theme “Delivering a Common Feature: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming” — was also virtually attended by high schools throughout The Bahamas, Youth Representatives and Organisations, and the Ministry staff at home and abroad.
