Special Charge for Yemen Tim Lenderking traveled to Jordan plus Saudi Arabia on January 7 to advance UN-led peace projects and to support the Yemeni parties to reach an agreement over a truce extension and file format, for the sake of all Yemenis. A durable ceasefire and an inclusive Yemeni-led personal settlement are the only journey forward to end the conflict and reverse Yemen’s horrible humanitarian crisis. Most people urge the Houthis to cooperate with the UN and additionally listen to Yemeni calls for the law, accountability, and peace. Yemenis deserve to determine the future of their whole country, and the United States remains committed to supporting a advantageous end to over eight years of conflict.
