34th Commemoration of World HELPS Day

World AIDS Day reminds all of us that HIV/AIDS continues to cause a threat to global health and global health protection. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) indicates that people are making steady progress to address the gaps that still put people at risk, specially the most vulnerable populations.   Over the nearly 20 years since the program began, PEPFAR offers saved 25 million life. PEPFAR’s success is the result of close to two decades of bipartisan support across presidential organizations and from the U. Ersus. Congress. That unwavering assistance is evidenced by the greater than 0 billion investment in the global fight to end HIV/AIDS through PEPFAR. We will carry on our commitment to sustained assistance of these efforts to help reach the goal of ending AIDS by 2030.
As we method the 20 th   anniversary associated with PEPFAR, guided by the PEPFAR five-year strategy released today, the United States government will keep support the global HIV/AIDS reaction with great determination and in close collaboration with our companions, who share our commitment to saving lives and ending this pandemic.
PEPFAR also relies on partnership. Considering that inception, the program has built global partnerships with multilateral plus public-private organizations, communities, governments and the private sector. Collectively, we have taken the bold action required to protect plus advance global HIV/AIDS gains and we will continue our focus on these targeted efforts in the middle of the needs to address other health crises around the world. Since 2020, our effort has incorporated supporting COVID-19 responses within PEPFAR countries by leveraging the robust public health insurance and clinical platforms established by PEPFAR.
