With 100 Million People Worldwide Fleeing War, Natural Unfortunate occurances, Poverty in 2022, Peace Needed Now ‘More Compared to Ever’, Secretary-General Urges in New Year’s Message

In  2022, millions of people all over the world literally swept out ashes.   From Ukraine to Afghanistan to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and beyond, people left the ruins of their homes and lives in search of something much better.   Around the world, 100  mil people were on the move, fleeing battles, wildfires, droughts, poverty plus hunger. Following is the text associated with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ New Year’s video message  2023: Every single New Year is a instant of rebirth.   All of us sweep out the ashes of the old year plus prepare for a brighter time. In 2023, let’s put peace at the heart of our words and activities.   Together, let’s make  2023 a year when serenity is restored to our lives, our homes and the world. In  2023, we need peace, now nowadays.   Peace with one another, by means of dialogue to end conflict.   Peace with nature and our climate, to build a far more sustainable world.   Peacefulness in the home, so women and ladies can live in dignity plus safety.   Peace at the streets and in our organizations, with the full protection of most human rights.   Peacefulness in our places of praise, with respect for each other’s beliefs.   And peace online, free from hate conversation and abuse.
