Secretary-General Appoints Aminata Maiga of Cote d’Ivoire United Nations Citizen Coordinator in Senegal

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Aminata Maiga of Côte d’Ivoire as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Senegal, with the host Government’s acceptance.   She takes up her post on 1  February. In Côte d’Ivoire, she worked as being a development economist and exclusive economic adviser at the National Bureau of Technical and Development Studies. Prior to that, Ms.   Maiga worked in Kinshasa because ILO Country Director for Angola, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Gabon.   She has also served as Senior Enterprise Expert in Cameroon and Regional Coordinator for Women’s Entrepreneurship Development in Ethiopia. Prior to her appointment because United Nations Resident Coordinator, Ms.   Maiga served because Director of the Decent Work Technical Team for Main Africa and Country Director for Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome plus Principe at the International Work Organization (ILO) in Cameroon.   She has supported Government authorities, employers’ and workers’ institutions in the formulation and implementation of policies, strategies and programmes for full plus productive employment, social security for all, international labour specifications and social dialogue. Ms.   Maiga brings more than 25  years of experience in financial policy and international growth with the United Nations and outwardly. Prior to joining the United Nations program, Ms.   Maiga held several senior positions in the technical and managerial levels.   She was a fiscal policy analyst in the Division of Finance of the Govt of the Northwest Territories, a community-based entrepreneurship programmes supervisor and a private sector advisor in Canada. Ms.   Maiga holds master’s levels in development and economics and in project analysis in the University of Clermont-Ferrand in France.   She also obtained a Master associated with Business Administration from the HEC Montréal.
