“We, too, possess asked repeatedly for answers to the status of multiple investigations concerning serious individual rights violations, but up to now there has been no satisfactory reaction, ” Mr. Auajjar additional. “The families of these victims have waited far too really miss justice, ” said Mohammad Auajjar, Chair of the FFM, which also includes other independent human rights professionals, Tracy Robinson and Chaloka Beyani . “Libyan authorities owe it to them to share information about themselves, to meet them and give all of them answers. Silence is unacceptable. ”
Justice long past due
The FFM welcomed the invitation from high-ranking Government officials to continue its inspections and its cooperation with the internationally-recognized Government. The Mission thanked the Libyan Ministry meant for Foreign Affairs and the Libyan Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, for assisting its visit, which included meetings with other senior officials such as the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council. The Fact-Finding Mission was established by the Individual Rights Council in 06 2020 with a mandate to check into alleged violations and violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian education law committed in Libya since 2016.
Call for release associated with Iftikhar Boudra
