The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Guyana, today presented Guyana’s candidature to host the 38th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organization’s Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean (LARC38) in 2024. The FAO Latin American and Caribbean Regional Conference is convened biennially and is the official forum where Ministers of Agriculture and High-Level officials of the region meet to deliberate on priority matters related to food and agriculture, including the promotion of regional coherence on global policies in the agri-food sector.
Minister Todd attended the Plenary Meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Permanent Representatives to the United Nations Rome-based Agencies where he presented Guyana’s bid to host the Conference. Several Latin American and Caribbean countries expressed support for Guyana’s candidacy.
