__________ Before becoming Executive Director within 2019, Ms. Andersen was engaged in international growth economics, environmental sustainability and policymaking for over 30 yrs. She served as Director General of the Worldwide Union for Conservation associated with Nature from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that will, Ms. Andersen was Vice-President of the Middle Eastern and North Africa Area at the World Bank (2011-2015) and Vice-President for Sustainable Development and Head of the Consultative Group of International Farming Research Fund Council (2010-2011), following a long career with all the World Bank, the Un and non-governmental organizations concentrating largely on sustainable advancement in Africa and the Middle East. Following the recommendation of the Secretary-General, after consultation with Associate States, the General Assembly confirmed Inger Andersen of Denmark as Executive Director from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for a further four-year phrase beginning on 15 06 2023 and ending upon 14 June 2027.
