The gift comes as the Foreign Secretary James Cleverly visits the united states and Canada, where he is definitely meeting with members of the Ukrainian diaspora and discussing assistance to Ukraine with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly. They include tents for use for temporary treatment centers where health facilities are actually damaged, as well as nearly eighty beds, over 30, 500 gowns, aprons, bandages, fine needles, and other vital pieces of healthcare equipment. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said: UK-Med’s support within Ukraine provides a range of important medical services, from surgical interventions and primary health care to mental health and psychosocial support. They are also training civilians in trauma first aid and delivering psychological first aid training for medical teams. UK-Med is extremely grateful for the donation of those supplies which will make a real distinction to the day-to-day
work of clinicians in Ukraine, doing work in very challenging conditions to offer healthcare to conflict impacted
populations. Over seventy pallets of bandages, crutches, wheelchairs, and other much needed medical supplies are being donated in order to UK-Med, a frontline healthcare NGO, for those injured within Russian attacks. The supplies come from the Foreign, Earth and Development Office’s crisis response stocks and will be utilized across Ukraine, including in Dnipro, Poltava and Lviv, to boost UK-Med’s ongoing work to establish mobile clinics to achieve and treat vulnerable individuals.

Tom Godfrey, Operations Director at UK-Med, said: Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is usually killing innocent civilians plus destroying vital infrastructure. The UN estimates that almost 18million people in Ukraine need humanitarian support. This donation is part of the UK’s commitment to provide medical items and basic necessities on the ground, saving lives and protecting vulnerable people. This includes more than £220 million worth of humanitarian support through the EL, the Red Cross and NGOs, including the Disasters Crisis Committee members and UK-Med.

This builds upon donations from FCDO in 2022 and helps to cement UK-Med as a key companion for the Ministry of
Wellness in Ukraine. This will help with our work directly treating war wounded through medical interventions as
well as providing primary health care which includes mental health care support to affected populations which is
supplemented by an extensive capacity creating program. This latest UK donation will help make sure medics on the frontline can continue to provide life-saving medical
support to those caught in the issue.

The united kingdom is sending further important medical supplies to Ukraine to help treat casualties of the Russian offensive.

The UK has previously donated equipment and pharmaceutic supplies to UK-Med, in addition to £300, 000 funding, to build mobile health clinics and help train Ukrainian doctors, nurses and paramedics in order to deal with mass casualties. This latest donation builds on that work, to support the most vulnerable civilians remaining in Ukraine, including the elderly and young kids.

Putin’s challenging bombardment of civilians and infrastructure across Ukraine is definitely continuing to have a massive
human cost, with the Ukrainian individuals paying the price.
