The Ambassador of Burundi in Ankara visits the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye

On thursday, march 09, 2023, the Ambassador of Burundi in Türkiye paid a visit to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye to discuss certain issues of cooperation and common interest.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ambassador of Burundi in Türkiye then insisted on strengthening cooperation through the exchange of experience, especially the sharing of information for early warning and effective. The Deputy Minister then underlined the need for the training of Burundian executives and promised that his Ministry will soon initiate a draft cooperation agreement for the training of specialists in natural disaster management which will be submitted to the Burundian side to analyze by official voice.
Regarding the earthquake of february 6, 2023 which shook the Republic of Türkiye and claimed human lives and caused many injuries, the Government of Burundi was thanked for the support provided by sending a team of disaster management experts to help Türkiye. Türkiye is very grateful for the gesture of solidarity shown by Burundi by sending out an intervention team specialized in the management of natural disasters composed of ten cadres for the search and rescue of the victims of the earthquake, and this shows the degree of friendship between Burundi and Türkiye. The Turkish people will remember this humanitarian gesture, said the Deputy Minister.
During the hearing, the two authorities discussed certain points, which are the earthquake of february 6, 2023 which shook the Republic of Türkiye and took human lives and caused several injuries; the support of partners and friendly countries of Türkiye; the level of intervention in the context of helping the victims of various disasters for all countries, future projects, etc.
Within the framework of the good relations of friendship that exist between Burundi and Türkiye, the Deputy Minister reminded some cooperation files that have already been submitted to the Government of Burundi and to which he would like attention to be given.
At the end of their meeting, the Deputy Minister reiterated to the Ambassador of Burundi in Türkiye the commitment of the Turkish Government to support the Government of Burundi.
