Barbados Participates In Green Ghana Day 2022 – Let’s Go Planting

Two tree seedlings Lignum vita (Tree of Life) and Millettia thonningii (Millattia) were planted by the High Commission in a degraded portion of the Forest Reserve. Similar ceremonies were held at various locations across Ghana in keeping with a campaign announced by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, during COP 26 to plant 20 million tree seedlings across the country to restore Ghana’s forest cover and contribute to global climate action.The tree planting ceremony, which was held at the Achimota Forest Reserve was also attended by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, the Hon. Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, the Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission, Mr. John Allotey and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, H.E.
