Barbados’ Foreign Minister Meets With Norway’s Envoy

Ambassador Stirø, who is based in Havana, Cuba, presented her credentials to Her Excellency The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, President of Barbados, this morning.Minister Walcott wished Ms. Stirø success in her tenure as ambassador and expressed appreciation to the country of Norway for its assistance over the years with regard to the Green Climate Fund and technical assistance in the area of disaster response.Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Dr. The Most Honourable, Jerome Walcott, met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, Ms. Beate Stirø.Ambassador Stirø promised to continue supporting Barbados, the Caribbean and other small island developing states in building climate change resilience and the multidimensional vulnerability index.Both Minister Walcott and Ambassador Stirø expressed the hope of enhancing cooperation between the two countries.Also present at the courtesy call were: Senior Foreign Service Officer, Euclid Goodman; Foreign Service Officer, Darren Carter and Honorary Consul for Norway to Barbados, Erica Luke.Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Dr. The Most Honourable, Jerome Walcott, with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, Ms. Beate Stirø.
